The day after
Jun 30th, 2007 by Soph
Hey everyone! This will be quite a short blog – I just wanted to tell all the Whasbloggers who were at the boat trip last night that I had a really great time. I’ve just been looking at the photos John uploaded to the gallery and I’m planning on adding some of my own later. Everyone looked gorgeous!
That’s about all I have to say, except that I’m also looking forward to John’s meal next weekend and the opportunity to dress up prettily again.
I also finally have a job thanks to a catering company who employ students – next Friday I will be learning how to hold four plates on one arm. Should be interesting. :]
See you all soon! x
It was indeed a splendid night! The highlights were definitely the raving and dancing on the top deck area and Biddle serenading us on the bus on the way back. Thank you all for making it a great evening, without the good company it would have just been a jostling queue of a boat trip. Well done on the pint too Adam, although you looked like you were regretting it a little while later…
ooh plate holding
I’ve always wondered how people manage to do that – good lucks!
Yes last night was wonderful ^^ Thank yoooou everyone and yay for Johns birthday meal!
Lovely photos Soph, thank you for uploading them! For those of you who haven’t seen them yet you can login and look at them on the Whasblog Gallery, link on the sidebar.
Sounds like an escapade fit for an old fool like me…
Right…seeing as I’m the only blogging virgin among us, please bear with me until I get used to this..
Ok..now I guess I shall tell you about the goings on around here.
First of all, I’m sorry I didn’t join you on Saturday. I had the most awful cold and I didn’t really feel up for going out. Plus I thought it would be quite unpleasant to be coughing and sneezing all evening around food. But I hope you all had an excellent evening together and I’m sorry that I missed out on it.
Secondly, the search for a job is going both well and badly. I had an interview last monday and they liked me enough to let my temp for a week which I did but have since said that didn’t think I was suitable for the job full-time. The reasons being that they thought I came across a bit short at times (likely as I was feeling crap for most of the week) and that there was one occasion where they thought I seemed arrogant: bascially, I was making up a package and because the goods were quite expensive and there was some space in the box as the goods didn’t quite fill it. They told me they sometimes use screwed up paper to bulk it out to avoid damage in transport. I went to get some but they told me it was probably not necessary as these products were only plastic. I said a couple of times to clarify “Shall I put it in anyway just to make sure?” or something to that effect and they seem to have taken that as me questioning their direction. The woman at the job agency (who got me the interview) said that they said because I had good grades even though I had little experience that I thought I knew best. I thought I was just double checking but what can you do?
I suppose the lesson is that no matter how you hard you work for somebody or how you go about things, there are often a lot of misunderstandings.
But at least I earned some money and I’m going babysitting tonight so that should keep me going for a little while.
Well done Soph and good luck with your job! Hope it isn’t too stressful
Not much else to report. Got my car insured so I can now drive it around (with somebody else of course) which is quite nice..although it keeps making me believe I’ve already passed my test which is frustrating!
I’ve sorted out all my school stuff finally
It brings home how much school is..well…over. I still can’t really believe it. I’m keeping busy though so I don’t become too lazy. I spent the last two days sorting out my room- there’s a lot more space when there’s not 5 million folders scattered on the floor- and I’m helping mum to clean the attic out today and for the rest of this week.
Plus I’m hoping to do some cooking to fill my time and obviously, I’m still looking for a job..
Our annual assembly at Twickenham is coming up fast though which I’m looking forward to, of course..
Nothing esle I can think of to write. I’ll try to post as often as I can though I can’t promise when as I’ll just find 10 mins here and there.
All the best to everyone!

I’m really annoyed..I just spent half an hour blogging and then I think it didn’t submit for some reason..
I’ll hopefully have time to catch up some other time…
Well done Soph on getting that job..hope it goes well!
All the best to everyone else..
