Catching up

Hello peeps!
Glad to see you’re all enjoying you freedom while you still can before uni. I imagine all of you will have finished reading Harry Potter so if any of you feel like giving me a really really brief overview of how it all ends I’d like to know (even though I haven’t really been following the story since Goblet of Fire).
My life is pretty boring atm. i had a couple of interviews last week, both of which went quite well. So i have a full time job now from 9 til half 5 at a company juat next to my house (presuming most if not all of you know I live on an industrial estate). It was day 3 today. It’s going well but is quite boring and won’t be very well paid but at least I can walk to it and come home for lunch which means I don’t have any travelling expenses. I’m working for a company that’s in the motor industry, working in the customer relations team so I basically spend the whole day on the phone but the people are really friendly which I think counts for a lot. I turned down a job that had better prospects which would have trained me to be a financial planner but it was in Rickmansworth so further to travel. I wouldn’t have minded as they pay way better but I’d have to study for more exams which wouldn’t have been a problem until my interviewer told me I’d have a 9-5 job and then have to study independently in my own time which I just wasn’t willing to do simply because I don’t have the time. So although my current job isn’t as good in terms of prospects it’s giving me a bit of experience and money while I find my feet a bit and look for something better. It’s the kind of job where the people change really frequently anyway..there’s 5 people on my team and the person that has been there a year is considered to be a veteran. the only bad thing is that my wages depend on commission so if I have a day off or a holiday I’m paid next to nothing. But, as I said, it’s a start though to be honest I’d probably earn more and get less stressed working in a supermarket. I’m on a months trial so I’ll see what it’s like at the end of that because any new job is going to be hard.
I’m also doing quite well selling my old A-level books on Amazon. Other than that, no more news really. I’m having my hair cut tonight and I have my driving lesson tomorrow. He said last week that if I drive well this week he’ll consider booking my test. Adam, Sophie and Jemima, please keep me up to date on the driving front
.
Our results come out on the 16th yes? Maybe I’ll see some of you at school then but if not I’ll be in touch to find out how you did and hopefully to help you celebrate!
 All the best
 Robyn

Hiah! Full time work eh? You’re a step ahead of the rest of us then. At least it sounds friendly and as for better prospects, if you’re trying to find a better job anyway then who needs ‘em! Commission dependant pay can be both a blessing and a curse I suppose…
As for Harry Potter, I’d hate to ruin the story for anyone who hasn’t read it yet, but if you nip over to Wikipedia, I’m sure it has quite a concise overview. Here it is.
It sounds like you’ve got yourself a pretty good work placement if it’s right next to your house – I’m sure you’ll get used to it after a while and it won’t seem as boring. Also I say any money is better than none!
I haven’t had a driving lesson since last November so I don’t have much to report on that front
Ellen passed her test last week though!
Now I will go and read your other more recent blog…
