Airsoft and impending meet
Aug 29th, 2007 by John
Hello folks. Whilst I hate to take Toby’s awesome post out of the spotlight…
As some of you definitely know 4 Whasblogians and another friend of ours went Airsofting last night. For those of you that don’t know (and probably don’t care, but tough), that’s like paintballing but with bb guns. Good fun! Thought it would be interesting to play in a night game, and interesting it certainly was. The light lasted just as long as the first game, attacking The Fort. After that it was just inky blackness in the woods with very little to go by in terms to where /who anyone was. In the second game we were walking along when some guy shouted for us to STOP! because he’d just set up a Claymore there. A close shave indeed, although soon enough a couple of us got taken out by a Moscart (a hundred or so gas propelled bbs) to the back of our heads: hearing a BANG and turning round to see a cloud of gas and dozens of plastic balls spraying everywhere :bigo: . Not as painful as I’ve made it sound however as only two or three bbs hit each of us. Effective though. Far too dark to use sniper rifles, and our masks didn’t really help us to see. The last games were the best in my opinion, defending and assaulting The House. Especially defending. Ahh good times. And look, there 3 of us are, with their highly messed up faces. And is that an AK47 on the table!? Why yes indeed it is. What a lot of miscreants.

Hehe, can you guess who is who? :3 . So once we’d finished shooting one another (well actually we were all on the same [highly non-pc terrorist (apt since we were mostly armed with AKs)] team) we toddled back to my place for sleeping and LAN gaming. What a geek fest. Photos of the aforementioned nerdiness are in the gallery.
The next day consisted of more gaming and a bit of attempted breakfast making. Adam’s lovely smoking oily bacon luckily not quite setting fire to the house. A bit of training for university there at least. Thanks for coming folks, I hope ye all enjoyed. I certainly did. Any excuse to brandish a Kalashnikov at strangers! :U
Moving on though, those of you who have seen the Whasblog Calendar will have noticed that we’re scheduled for a meetup on the 9th September. This will be the last feasible day that we all have the possibility of being free / in the county, so it would be good if people could keep some of the day or at least the evening free. :buck:
Twas most fun
Hopefully we will have another chance to go airsofting, whether it be before or after uni. Likewise with the LAN gaming :V Just so we can all get pwnt by Toby…again :bigo:
Splendid, we can always have a mid-uni game if it can be coordinated. Or else in the Summer, unless we’re all jetting off in student-like world travels. Toby did indeed seem to win most of the time.
I’m glad you had fun, although I can’t imagine why you all enjoy crawling around in the (VERY smelly) mud in the dark getting BB-grenades thrown at you… dear oh dear. Yay for LAN games :U
Hehe sounds like really good fun! In a way it makes me wish I had the guts to do that sort of thing but I know I’d never be able to hold me own! I’d be more use to my team if I got captured or shot or whatever happens to make you go out…
Good times!
