Well I couldn’t think of what to call this blog because, if I’m being truthful, it probably won’t contain much of interest but I thought I should add my two pennies worth. I’m glad that you seem to be settling in so well John to university life and I hope the rest of you find it equally enjoyable when you go.
I’ve settled in well at work. Last week was incredibly busy and my boss joked that usually the receptionists just sit around eating chocolate and reading magazines. I felt a bit inadequate at this because I was scarcely doing the work I had to for that day, let alone getting ahead but guess what I end up doing for most of last week? Yes, eating magazines and reading chocolate…no wait, the other way around. The work is now really straightforward and I can do most things expected of me easily. Last week did have an added highlight in that one of the nurses had to have a small white filling in one of her front teeth and she allowed me to take her place! So I got to hold that big sucky hoover thingy and mix the glue and squit out the z100, (she was A1 in colour) and it was all rather splendiferous. I also held the ultra violet light to make the filling harden. And they said that I could do that any time I wanted, if they weren’t busy. So that was rather exciting. I’m learning lots more about the materials they use as I’m having to order more stock in and last week the first letter addressed to me arrived…although they spelt my name with an ‘i’.
All in all, these events seem nowhere near as exciting and glamorous as the ones already described by other people but I’m happy and I hope I could have some kind of a future in dentistry.
Love to you all

Helloo! Wow, sounds like your work is going really well! Hooray  I’m surprised they’re so laid back there, they sound like really nice people to be working with. And if you’re already helping with the actual hands-on dentistry side of things then imagine where you’ll be in a few months time!
I’m so glad your job is going well! I can easily see you getting a very respectable dentistry-type job, and it sounds like you’re in the prime position to get started in such a career with all the experience you’ll be getting from helping out with fillings and things.
