The harm caused by sibling rivalry is relative

Hello y’all.
I’ve been so busy working that i’m getting a bit mad. In fact, when I traveled up to Derby this weekend to see my good old gran me and my sister were having a bit of a competition over who liked their subject the most, and subsequently who could read the most about it. It was a very odd weekend, but alas now I can tell you all about the wonders of pharmacology and psychobiology, which i’m sure you’d be very interested in hearing about another time.
Even today I woke up bright and early for no reason other than to work! It’s not like me at all, but it is a testament to the fact that I’m loving everything I’m learning so far. My elective sociology module has gotten me so hooked that I am in the process of changing my single honours psychology degree to a joint honours psychology and sociology degree.
Not only that but I’ve discovered the wonders of Philosophy! I had no idea how relevant the subject was to my course but when it was suggested that I take a module called ‘Human Development and Learning’ run by the Philosophy department I decided to give it a go. It’s so interesting. Everything is interesting! Even all the biological crap that I wouldn’t have understood (and didn’t) during A-level has gotten me so hooked that I listen so intently and do so much wider reading I understand it and enjoy it! It’s a complete turn around.
And yes, I’m a real looser and feel like a geek but I love it! Not only do I love my course but Oxford has the most fantastic nightlife in the history of the world (second to London that is). I’ve been out so much, drinks are so cheap, even the union bars (of which there are millions dotted all over the place) are really good. Some people though *cough*Tammy*cough* leave without saying goodbye!
Richie and I have been hitting it off great as well! He very amazingly surprised me with a surprise (how surprising I was surprised at a surprise I hear you say!!) visit when he just turned up at my door. It was so cute. So, I, in return blew my weekly budget on a train to Beaconsfield to surprise him back, which was very cool. He’s such a lovely guy and I hope y’all meet him some day.
Anyway, I’m off to the land of nod to dream about Freud and Henry Kissinger. I hope you’re all having fun. (Oh, and I’m reading everything that is being written here I just never know what to say other than the generic “yay you/that thing you’re talking about sounds really cool” which you can take as a given at the moment as I’m loving everything!). I really do hope you’re uni/work/lives are turning and moving in directions you want them to go.
Best Wishes, Fred x
Whoo!! That sounds great! I wish I was learning everything you are. I’m very pleased that you are enjoying learning so much and that the drinks are so cheap
I’m glad that Richie is so surprising
He sounds like great fun!
I love it when people are happy!!
Btw I just noticed that you wrote this post today (Tuesday). I read it at 8:30 at work so you must have got up super early! You must be eager!
Yay, I’m glad everything’s going well for you! This post brightens up a very rainy day.

How I’m missing yer
You’re so chubby and so neat
With your funny clothes and your squishy nose
You’re like a German parakeet
etc…
errrm, excuse me Freddie, but i’ve been trying to get in touch with you since before i left, during the easter break and since I’ve been back. And ok, maybe I didn’t say Gooddbye, in which case I apologise, but I wished you happy easter in advance. Get your phone fixed or get another one.
On the subject of philosophy…wow!!! I’m glad it ties in with your interests and it says a lot that you can understand deep stuff like that. Yay, geekiness. nothing wrong with it that I can see.
hmmmm, got dates crazily wrong. apologies all round Freddie. I didnt say goodbye? sorry in the extreme.
