Hello peeps. Hope you are all well and that everyone had a fabulous time at Mima’s last Saturday. The engagement party I went to was a bit embarrassing at times (the groom to be had a white trilby on and some of his opening words to me included “Yeah, well I want all the men to wear them at the wedding. I’m gonna be wearing all white except a black tie”- so you can imagine how many japes we had. Plus the fact that he thought he was the reincarnation of Frank Sinatra and/or Dean Martin and wanted everyone else to think so was quite amusing. So that’s two weddings in the space of a month to look forward to next year, both my cousins, and also sisters. Everyone I know seems to be getting married soon. A colleague of mine recently got engaged and is tying the knot in July and a childhood friend of mine is getting married in September.

I’m also looking forward to yet another quiz night but this one is being organised by my sister Dionne and her husband who have organised all the questions etc. I’ve been banned from being on the same team as my older sister Sammie as Dee thinks we’ll know too many of the answers between us. I have no idea whose team I’ll be on until I get there. Also, some (American) friends of mine are going back to America in June (it would be financially stupid for them to stay here as they have big investments abroad) which is really sad and we’ll miss them lots. However, as a going away party, their daughter and her husband are organising a Tex-mex style ho-down complete with rodeo bull!! Yay!! So I need to find a checked shirt from somewhere pretty soon- I’m sure it’ll be hilarious.

On another happy note, no work for me next week!! It is the most anticipated holiday for me ever. I’m finding that you appreciate holidays far more when you don’t get many of them. We have little stickers on a year planner that are colour-coded for each of us to put our holidays on. Mine are green and I have a whole row of them lined up!! Yay!! I’m so happy just to have a few days off.

Changing tack again- I have been seeing Ellen on the way to work recently. Normally she’s quite a few cars ahead but today I was right behind her and spent my whole journey to work trying to get her attention. I did everything from waving my hands frantically to flashing my lights at her (the only thing I didn’t do was toot her) and she didn’t see me! Which was slightly disappointing.
