John: I’m not really sure- I only know the basics. I think their beliefs are similar to the Gnostics but I’m no expert! I think the main facts in the plot are correct, from what I’ve read. The only disappointment I had was at the end (which I won’t spoil in case you ever get round to it!) :V

Soph: I bet the reading lists can be quite hefty sometimes. I seem to be reading more recently because, even though I have less free time due to work, I enjoy my quiet solitude far more! I’m reading more non-fiction as well. I don’t know if that’s my way of making up for my lack of formal education or not! :happy:

Sounds like it was a lovely holiday :happy: I’ve heard of Labyrinth but not read it – the only books I get a chance to read these days are ones for my course…

Robyn: I have a board game called Carcassonne :happy: Is Catharism the same thing as Gnosticism? And if the books anything like DVCode then its facts may not have the most solid grounding in history. But I have not read it so yeh :3

John: The holiday was great, thanks. The Da Vinci code was on the list of ‘further reading’ at the back and it is about a grail etc. But it’s based in the 12/13th century in Carcassonne (France) and it’s about the Cathars, a Christian group deemed heretical because, I think, they believed in a form of reincarnation (amongst other things) and were persecuted by the Catholics. I just felt the ending was slightly unbelievable and when I told a colleague this, she said I needed to “open my spritual horizons”. So, that was that. Sporticus I can understand but Professor Yaffle! From Bagpuss- he’s the bird with specs :V

I’m glad you enjoyed your holiday, sounds very relaxing indeed! I’m sure any break from work is a welcome one. I haven’t built a sandcastle in years, I want to build one nowww :bigo:

Isn’t Labyrinth a bit like The Da Vinci Code? I’ve never read it though, just seen it on the bookshelves.

I can’t say that I’ve ever heard of Sporticus or Prof. Yaffle…

Arr there has been a famine of postings recently. I blame a ridiculous amount of work and approaching deadlines! Thanks for sharing your news though, good to hear from you again.
