The Difficult Third Blog
Jun 4th, 2008 by Adam
Well here it is, my shamefully late third blog. The day you have no doubt all been waiting for has finally come.
I’m back at home having finished my first year at uni. Seems like most of you lot haven’t come home yet, but when we’re all back some get-togethers must be arranged! I thought a BBQ might be nice, but I’m not sure who would be up to hosting one for lotses of people. If I ended up being the host then people would probably have to bring some disposable BBQs as ours is about as old as time itself. And considerably rustier.
And for my male readers, I suggest another manly gaming/pizza/guitar hero/computery get-together. Shotgun not hosting this time
Volunteers are welcome. Someone with a half decent network. John, I’m looking at you…
Uni has been going well enough. Some of my modules are very interesting, whereas others I’d rather peel myself than study them any further. Thankfully I won’t be doing those ones next year, so the potato peeler can go back in the draw. Next year I can look forward to cheery modules such as Nuclear War and Conflict since the 1800s. After doing International Relations for a while, you start to realise the depressingly small role of peace in studying War and Peace (not the book…). On the plus side, several of my lecturers have funny accents and one has a face like an anteater
So now I’m faced with 4 months at home before going back to uni D: Not quite sure I’m going to fill such a vast amount of time. At the moment I’m redecorating my parent’s house, which will certainly take a fair while. As such I’m covered in paint as I type this
Theeeeen in early August I’m going off to Spain for a couple of weeks with Jemima, which should be nice
And sunburntacular. After that I suppose a job is in order.
Not sure what else there is to say, so I shall sign off before I end up going down Ramble Avenue.
Peace out.
Lol, I find you looking at me for a half decent network fairly ironic. I think it was more luck that it held up last time. Besides I have no consoles (and cod4 ftw).
Thanks for the update! I shall now de-wire the explosives under your bed. :3
This blog is long over-due! But much appreciated nonetheless! Can’t believe you’ve been at uni a year already- it makes me feel really old. Several of our patients have funny accents too and we also enjoy laughing at them
Sounds like Spain should be good (except for the sunburn bit). Out comes the factor 50.
Yaaay a blog! Well done
And I fully second the BBQ idea.
John….be careful about de-wiring those explosives. They are right next to mine.
All you finished people are so lucky. Three weeks to go…(although the last two weeks of these will be amazing and exam-free). BBQ is an excellent plan – I probably won’t be able to host anything this summer because our house is having lots of work done so it’s going to be a bit of a bomb site. Sorry peeps!
i’m all for the bbq and pizza/gaming stuff oh and speaking as an individual whose had 12 months trust me stuff fills it (usually sleeping, video games and the internet). Spain trip sounds fun when i get back from oz land (late august/early sept) we can compare
