End of exams, WSAF and France
Jun 20th, 2008 by Soph
Hey peeps  How is everyone? Hope Tim’s party was fun on Saturday. I’m still up in the ‘wick – my exams finished a week ago and I’ve since had lots of rehearsals and the odd concert here and there. On Saturday I sang in a little barbershop group at the WOSCARS (awards ceremony for the drama societies), which was really good fun. Next week is the last week of term and the Warwick Students’ Art Festival (WSAF) will be going on all week. It’s basically a whole week of free drama, music and art shows all day, every day, all around campus. It’s going to be awwweeesome! I’m performing in various things, and so are my friends, so I’ll be going to see loads of shows and taking John with me, who is visiting. Some of the things I’m most looking forward to:
- A Midsummer (mid)Night’s Dream, which is a performance of the play set at midnight, with the action taking place on a walk around campus – the audience will be led by a chorus of faeries carrying lanterns. Cool huh?
- Mamma Mia – this is the MTW (Music Theatre Warwick) weekend show. They do three of these a year, rehearsing and putting on an entire show over one weekend – mad as that sounds it always turns out amazingly, and I can’t wait to see it
Wooo ABBA songs!
- ‘Art’, which is a three-man play about a guy who buys a big white painting for a huge amount of money and the resulting disruption of his friendship with the other two guys.
Plus lots of other exciting things. Yay!!
I’m coming home for the summer next Thursday, and leaving again a few days later to go to France for a month. As part of my course we have to go to a French-speaking country for four weeks some time in the holiday to do voluntary work / paid work / a language course. I’m doing voluntary work in the Alps, which is a little scary, but also exciting. So I say we all meet up at some point between the 27th and the 30th. Picnic/BBQ/bowling/meal?
Loves! xxx
So many abbreviations. I have such trouble keeping track of them all. I look forward to the mad culture fest of next week
Bah! France! I have nothing else to say on that matter other than I’m sure it’ll be really fun :catfish:
A busy busy bee you have been! Makes me feel so lazy
And we must indeed all meet up when you are back – maybe we could do the BBQ idea then? Funs ^^
oooooh! sounds like lods of fun!! Wish I couldve seen some of them. H’mmm… gathering when everyopne’s around is difficult…and would be awesome!! xx
