Time flies

Hello peeps. 2008 is disappearing before our very eyes and I for one am scared about how fast time is flying! I’ve been at college for a month already but , if the truth were known, haven’t really learnt very much. This isn’t helped by the fact that I only go for 3 hours a week but we’re slowly getting there. Work is going really well. I love nursing and I’m getting up to speed now. I’m pretty confident of all the procedures that we do in our practice now and I’m finally starting to relax a bit more in surgery. I really feel settled here and I’m getting to know the patients well.
Also I’m very excited about the new series of Stictly!!
Glad to hear that everyone seems to be settling into another year of uni.

Ah well, seems to be the state of higher education here and there. Provided you turn up and pay them you’ll get a qualification whether learn anything or not :3
One of our lecturers mentioned something about how they ‘had to pass’ people who ‘really didn’t deserve it’. I’m at a loss as to where the ‘has to’ comes into it?
Anyway, hooray for work! Really glad you’re enjoying it and progressing with the nursing. :happy:
Good to hear from you, who are you rooting for with Strictly?
John: Thankfully the government pays for my course so I haven’t had to part with a single penny. I think it’s just taking a few weeks for everyone to get settled and in a routine.
Not sure who I’m rooting for really! I love Vincent so of course I’m backing him and Tom and Camilla have a good patrnership. I think Austin is an amazing dancer but I’ve never really liked Erin as much as some of the professionals. Gutted Karen has gone already (she’s my favourite). But Gary had to go!
Gary Glitter? He did indeed have to go…

Oh, Gary Rhodes, yeh him leaving was for the best. That’s the only bit of Strictly I’ve seen :happy:

I don’t know how you can like Vincent!! He reaches higher levels than Brendan in slimeyness! Rachel Stevens is ok, but the pop stars usually are
Not that I have picked a favourite yet really…I like Erin (despite the huge screw up she managed with Colin a couple of series ago) but I also have a soft spot for Don, even though I know he isnt going to win

Our TV isn’t working yet, except for playing on the super nintendo, N64 or PS2, which are all awesome! So I haven’t been watching strictly (although I’ve actually never watched it anyway so I probably wouldn’t even if the TV was up and running, but anywhooooo…). We did get finally ourselves kitted up with internet today though, so I’m very happy about that :3

Jemima: I totally understand your shock at me liking Vincent! If you were to describe him to me (Italian, massively flirtacious, overly charming, loves himelf etc) I wouldn’t be impressed but he is so sweet and such a great dancer (especially at the Argentine tango with Flavia) and who wouldn’t be endeared to someone who said (of Rachel) “She was shaking like a leaflet” (?!)
Erin did screw up with Colin. I think her abs are scary too when she does the Latin. She altogether scares me a bit. Don is sweet and his tango with Lilia went well but I don’t fully ‘get’ him yet.

Soph: Glad to see you have internet now! I can’t help but feel you’re missing out on strictly! It’s my weekly (and if you count It Takes Two, daily) fix of sequins, razzle and sheer entertainment. A great way to cure the autumn/winter blues on a cold rainy evening, that’s for sure! Great to hear from you.
